Emma has arrived!!!

So, as most of you know, miss Emma arrived October 31, 2007. Here is her story.....
We went to the docs on Monday, Oct. 29. Everything was going well until they checked my blood pressure. 157/106. Ouch! So the doc came in and checked me. I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. He decided it would be best to induce me on Tuesday Oct. 30. I wasn't quite sure how to react. I was nervous and scared and so much needed to be finished at home before she got here. Thank god my mom was with me because I'm not sure what I would've done if I was there by myself. So I call Eric and he freaks out of course. But I calm him down and he is nervous and excited and scared as well. So we try and get some sleep Monday night, tough luck with that. We get to the hospital at 7am Tuesday morning. They check me in, do my IV and the doc brakes my water. They then start the pit drip. I was doing really great for a while. I couldn't feel the contractions for the first few hours. Emma was handling everything very well. They slowly increased the pit drip by 2 every 1/2 hour. I slowly moved up to 4cm and 80% effaced. The continue to increase the pit drip. Everything seems to be going fine. I can feel the contractions now and I breathe through them. The doc checks me again and I am 7cm and 100% effaced. Great. I'm thinking this is going great and I will have Emma on the 30th and not Halloween. Then they increase my pit drip to 14. Bad idea! I had constant contractions, absolutely NO brakes. It was horrible. I tried and tried to breathe through them but they were getting worse and worse. It's now 11pm. I've been in labor for 16 or so hours. I haven't eaten in well over 24 hours and I am exhausted. I didn't want an epidural but at this point, 12am, I was so drained that the nurse talked me into it. What a relief! It didn't hurt at all and I finally got some sleep. I woke up at 2am with major pressure in my bottom. I call the nurse in, the one checks me and says it's go time! We got all excited and everyone was ready to meet her. Then another nurse comes in and checks me while I push and says I still have some cervix left so I can't push yet. UGH!! I though we were ready. The pressure in my bottom was almost unbearable. I felt that if I just pushed it would go away. But the nurses wouldn't let me. Then they put something into my epidural and it made the pressure go away and pretty much let me go to sleep. I wake up again at 5am. They check me again and it is really go time now. So the pushing begins at 5:20am. I feel really confident and ready to meet my little girl. We knew she was face up but the doc thought she would turn during delivery, so I believed him. I push and push and push in all different positions and she is not coming down the birth canal. The doc comes in at 8:15. I've been pushing for 3 hours and she says no matter how mush I push this baby is not coming out vaginally. I have to have a C-Section. The words I DID NOT want to hear.! I cried and everyone cried. But we knew it was the best for me and Emma. So they pre-pare me for surgery. Never before have I had surgery. They take us to the OR and Emma was born at 9:02 am Halloween morning. 26 hours of labor and a C-Section later I get to meet my little girl. She is absolutely perfect in every way. I would go through everything all over again for her. She is absolutely beautiful and has everyone wrapped around her little finger already. We couldn't be more in love with her. And, She scored a 10 on her test they do when she was born! I hope you enjoy the pics and I will put up more when I get a chance!
