Well, we had a little scare last Monday. I came home sick from work thinking I had too much sun on Sunday at Eric's god-son's birthday party. So I go see my mom and she says it's definitly not sun poisening and we think I'm just tired from a busy weekend. So I go home and try to get some sleep. But I can't becasue I keep having chills, again, I thought this was related to the sun burn. So it's now 5pm and I finally decide to check my temperature just to see. Turns out my temp is 100.7. Not too bad but I call mom anyways. She says to call my OB. So I page them. They tell me to come in to the office. I get there at 5:30. My temp is now 102 and I tell the nurse practitioner that I have lower back pain. She asks all sorts of questions and then I remember that I had the same problem when I was 16 and it was a kidney infection. So I tell them. The NP says she has to page the doctor to see what she wants, the baby's heart-rate was a little high too due to the fever. Anyways, by the time the doctor calls back it's 6:45p. They want me to go to Albany Med. Of course I went to the docs by myself because I thought I was overreacting. So I have to page Eric who is at work working overtime. He finally calls back in a panic of course and I tell him I need to go to the hospital. What should've taken him 30 minutes to get to me took him 15 tops. He's freaking out and I try to tell him the baby and I will be alright as tears are pooring down my face. I then tell him that he is suppose to be strong for me and we laugh. We fly to Albany Med. I am a "direct admitt" to the 6th floor, labor and delivery. I get put in a room at 7:30pm not a soul cam in to my room to check anything until at least 9:30pm. How crazy!!!!!! Anyways, they finally come in and check my temp, which went down a little, and my blodd-pressure and oxygen which were a little high. They then decide they need bloodwork and to put an IV in. Of course I hate needles so I let the nurse know I normally pass out. She puts the IV in and takes some blood and then has to take the IV out because my vein collapsed. There was blood all over the place. During all this instead of passing out my body decided to puke this time. So they leave. Hours later they come in and say they have to get more blood because 2 out of 3 tubes clotted from the last draw. They did get my white blood count done. WBC is suppose to be between 10 and 11,000 and mine was 19,000 which definitly meant I had an infection. So anyways, now she does the IV in my forearm this time, gets some more blood. They come back in to check my bloodpressure and such and it's low because of the IV and taking my blood, although I was proud and did not pass out. Some more hours pass and they come in to get more blood and to tell me I need to have a cathater put in to get a clean catch of urine. This time they need a "clean catch" of blood so they have to take the same amount from each hand. I found this strange but whatever. So they do that. Some more hours pass and it's now 3am. They tell Eric he can no longer stay in the room with me and he either needs to go home or go to the waiting room. I tell him to just go home and get some rest and as he goes to leave I again burst in to tears. He decides to stay in the lounge. So he leaves and they come and do the catheter...... not fun ladies, not fun at all!! I fall in and out of sleep in between the nurses comeing in. The doctor came in and did an ultrasound and told me I would have an ultrasound of my kidney's tomorrow morning, but I got to see the baby. It was putting it's hands together and kicking it's feet. I still can't feel anything yet though. I just kept wishing Eric was there to see it. So Eric returns at 5:30a and decides to go home and shower and bring me some clothes and my blanket and will be back. Some guy comes and takes more blood at 6:30. These people are like vampires! Eric comes back at 7am. The doctor comes in and tells me as long as I promise to take my anti-biotics four times a day then she will let me go home. Of course I promise to do that, I want to go the hell home. So a few hours later some guy comes to bring me to ultrasound and Eric comes with me. We get the ultrasound of the kidneys and he said they had to do one of the bladder. As they guy is looking for my bladder, there the baby was! So the guy stayed on the baby a little while because Eric didn't get to see the one the night before. This time, the baby was bouncing around. It made us really happy!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways I get back to my room, they give me more antibiotics via IV. They come in a little later and Eric mentions that the doctor earlier said I could go home today. They go and check my chart and come to find out I could've gone home many hours ago!!! SO they take out the IV and I get my paperwork and we leave. We get my script filled and we are home at 2pm. After we are home safe and sound Eric decides to tell me that everytime they came to do the IV or bloodwork they were reading directions as they were doing it. This made me feel good. Anyways, I had a kidney infection and am now almost doen with my anti-biotics and I feel much better. The doctor had me out of work for a week so all I did was rest and sleep and Eric and my mom took care of me. Thankfully the baby is ok because they checked it when we went to our follow up appointment of Friday, and I lost 3 pounds. I will keep you posted.

OMG! I would lose my mind with all those needles! I'm actually hoping that labor pains are so bad that I won't be able to freak out about the needles...and the epidural...OMG!
You're a strong girl!
When we had our scare at 10 weeks we had an ultrasound and the baby was dancing all around too, it's so cute! They are so small and yet moving all around, def. an awesome feeling to see your baby move!
Glad everything is ok, make sure you take it easy!
